Foundation Underpinning Lifts and Levels Foundations

In North Carolina, we do see our fair share of rain. Because of this, our homes and businesses also commonly see foundation problems occur. People don’t think much of the rain. Cracks: Cracks can appear throughout. Look for them on walls, floors, in drywall, tiles, and even your garage column. Note that some cracks are not a huge problem, but it is worth having any cracks inspected to make sure there isn’t a bigger problem.

Uneven Floors: You might notice floors sloping. This can happen through a structure from the basement or crawlspace to the top floor.

Bowing and Leaning of Walls: In your basement or crawlspace, as pressure builds up, walls can bow, lean and crack. Water will find it’s way into your home or business through these cracks eventually.

Countertops Pulling Away: You might notice your bathroom or kitchen countertops pulling away from the walls, and the caulk may be split. This can be due to improper installation, but can also be due to foundation movement.

Leaning Chimney: This can be a big danger for the rest of your home, and your neighbors home. It can also mean that the footings beneath it have moved. This is not something you want to wait to have checked out.

Bricks and Exterior Rock Breaking Down: If you inspect the outside of your home then you might notice spalling or cracking of the bricks or exterior rocks, there may be a movement causing this. We can inspect it as well, and let you know if it is due to foundation movement.
